Last week Russia-US relations continued to reach new record lows. Above all, it concerns the situation in Syria. On Monday the US declared that it officially cut off negotiations with Moscow over the conflict in Syria accusing the Kremlin of supporting Assad’s forces in the Aleppo assault, which American officials described as brutal bombardments of civilian areas. Moscow repeatedly emphasized that the strikes were carried out against terrorists groups. Responding to the US decision to withdraw from the talks, Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that Washington had failed in implementing the Russia-US brokered ceasefire and separating terrorists from moderate opposition.
