Important changes have taken place in the Rethinking Russia management team. Yan Vaslavskiy, Rethinking Russia Director since its establishment in 2015, has taken charge of the Department of Analytics and Expertise of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, lower chamber of the country’s parliament. This decision complies with the course for reshuffle in the Central Office of the State Duma and, particularly, with the emphasis that is being made on the involvement of the leading universities and think tanks’ representatives in analytics and expertise. As Director of Rethinking Russia, Yan Vaslavskiy has managed to develop a dialogue with both Russian and foreign expert communities. He organized a number of international conferences and round-tables on most urgent issues of Russia’s home affairs and foreign policy.
Alexander Konkov will replace Yan Vaslavskiy as Director at Rethinking Russia. Alexander is an Associate Professor, Deputy Head of the Department of Political Analysis of the Faculty of the Public Administration at the Lomonosov Moscow State University; until recently – Advisor of the Executive Director of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund. Alexander is involved in developing political science in Russia and expert work.
Rethinking Russia will hold the same priority research areas: Russia’s domestic policy and socio-economic issues as well as relevant international developments and foreign policy. The center will continue to release its traditional analytical products as well as develop new formats of analysis and analytics.
